GreNME ::: Favorites Thank you very much. Flynn is my favorite because I picked him out of a shelter. :-) Yeah, IWs are pretty good at just picking their prey up and tossing them like a toy. That's how it's easy to see that Ty is playing with Flynn, despite Flynn's best effort to be tough. 07-09-11 22:17:55 __________________________________________________
Dodgegirl79 ::: Favorites I just ment in general.I am a previuos IWH owner. your dogs are very beautiful. Flynn too. ;-) 07-09-11 21:54:58 __________________________________________________
GreNME ::: Favorites The youngest (and largest) dog there is actually the alpha of the bunch, but both boys still defer to Maggie (the shorter, more squat wolfhound) when it comes to places to sleep and coming into and leaving the house. She gets precedence because she is the only female of the group, and the oldest females of a pack always have special status. You see the GSD trying to herd near the end because he's a GSD, and that's what they do. Maggie gives only a mild response and Flynn backs off right away. 07-09-11 19:40:10 __________________________________________________
GreNME ::: Favorites Irish wolfhounds did indeed hunt wolves, but the "fighting lions" scenario isn't necessarily applicable to wolfhounds as they exist today. The breed nearly disappeared about 150 years ago and was brought back through selective breeding. Most Irish wolfhounds don't possess the aggressive capacity to be fighters these days. They are truly gentle giants, as is often said about them. 07-09-11 19:35:50 __________________________________________________
GreNME ::: Favorites The largest dog is the youngest. The one you see me petting it the oldest (she's a sweetie). A "serious fight" between the GSD "Flynn" and the wolfhound "Ty" isn't really a realistic scenario. They are so bonded they may as well be a couple. 07-09-11 19:33:06 __________________________________________________
OmShante ::: Favorites It looks like the German Shepherd actually starts herding the Irish Wolfhounds a bit. 07-09-11 18:07:44 __________________________________________________
OmShante ::: Favorites That's a really great setup - Irish Wolfhounds and a German Shepherd - my two favorite dogs! Out of curiosity, which one is the alpha? 07-09-11 18:03:30 __________________________________________________
HeinzyRugby ::: Favorites Wolfhounds can be extremely ferocious when provoked, they used to fight lions back in gladiator rings, and as their name implies, they hunted wolves.....so I'd say the WH. 07-09-08 22:28:47 __________________________________________________
Dodgegirl79 ::: Favorites Is the larger dog older?? Who would win is a serious fight, the sheppard or the wolfie? Great dogs . 07-09-03 09:03:19 __________________________________________________
GreNME ::: Favorites Thanks. They're really cool dogs. I love them to pieces. 07-09-01 21:28:53 __________________________________________________
