You are utterly and completely wrong. You need trial lawyers because of insurance companies and incompetent doctors. Studies have shown that litigation cost do not affect the cost of health care. Even if it did, so what? If the cost of health care goes up because an insurance company had to pay the parents of a child that a doctor killed due to incompetence, that is fine with me.

yes exactly that is why health care costs are high. I think the people are exaggerating the fact that costs are high bc of insurance companies, but fail to mention that the reason they dont cover a lot of benefits is because it is too expensive and the main reason is the high salaries of doctors and hospitals. And why is that? Bc of the nature of the job.

Doctors more than any other profession are the highest paid along with lawyers. But the main reason why doctors get paid so much is bc. of the nature of the job and unneccesary litigation costs. They are not the only problem but u have to admit they are part of the problem. And look at the cases john edwards covered as a lawyer. Most of them have been unnecessary cases and has been a loss of millions of dollars for doctors and insurance companies that cover the doctors.

so my point is not only does the government have to shift the middle man, which are the insurance companies, but cut down on the losses that result from litigation costs.I am not saying patients shouldnt sue doctors, i think they should have that right, but only the cases that show real imcompetence from doctors and it shouldnt be used for profit making purposes from patients which they often do.

I see nothing from you other than attacks on others opinions. Never anything constructive; just a lot of the same old bullshit. The disapproval of opposing opinions has a very familiar ring to it and has a very familiar motive, however if you really believe that it makes you look any smarter; that becomes the real punch line here.

You're right.. Litigation does not increase the total cost of health care to the consumer. However, when you have some money hungry ambulance chaser lawyer ...filing false claims against doctors in rural communities to the point that the doctors can no longer afford malpractice insurance in rural West Virginia and North Carolina anymore. The doctors pack up and leave for another state and the people are left with no one to care for them.

Except maybe some nurse practitioners and CRNAs (who by the way) the dems (social healthcare), insurance companies, and lawyers would love to hire because since they have less education than the medical doctors they can of course pay them less and put more money in their own (malpractice lawyer) pockets. Awesome! I'm sold.
